What should I expect?
Your trainer will be an expert in the field of dog training and behavior, so you are guaranteed the highest level of knowledge, feedback, guidance and advice. Trainers in Victoria’s professional network are also equally adept at communicating effectively and empathetically with their human clients, so you will be fully heard, understood and appreciated.
Virtual dog training is a powerful and effective option, especially when time, location or professional availability may be limiting factors. Much of what can be accomplished during an in-person training session can also be achieved during a virtual consultation, however it should be noted that any initial consultation with a good professional dog trainer - whether virtual or in-person - is usually more of a fully-realized fact-finding and problem identification exercise than a multi-layered training plan creation process. As such, expectations for any initial consultation should be measured more by their ability to identify issues while developing the knowledge and confidence to address them in an ongoing effort than by an assumption that the ‘problem behaviors’ will be fully managed and resolved in one hour.
What do I need for my consultation?
Consultations are hosted via Zoom, so you’ll need a stable high-speed internet connection, a webcam, and the ability to join a Zoom meeting with both audio and video. You’ll also be invited to share details about your dog(s), what is going well, and in which areas you’d like help, so you should be prepared to provide that information to your trainer.
When will it happen?
After purchasing your consultation, you will receive an email with a link to a private form where you will share your details. Your trainer will contact you via email within 48 hours after you submit your information. Once in contact with your trainer via email, you’ll work together to find a mutually convenient time to meet online.
How do I get Zoom?
Zoom is a secure, free software program trusted by millions around the world allowing people to connect by sharing audio and/or video. Visit www.zoom.us to download Zoom on your computer, tablet or mobile device.
What if I’m not satisfied?
Positively offers a satisfaction guarantee and will offer a full refund or additional consultation if you’re not satisfied after your session.
